Hello, Thanks for visiting Pixie Dust! My Name is Laura, I’m Professional Hair and Make Up Artist. Working in Bridal and special occasions as well as Theatre, TV, Film and Editorial. I’m based in the Fylde Coast but happy to travel further afield.
With 10+ years experience, I genuinely love what I do! I’m passionate about making people look and feel their best with Make Up and Hair Styling. Whether that’s helping a bride to look their best on their special day or creating a character in theatre. Every make up is very personal to each client, so I’ll do my best to ensure I create something we’re both happy with.
Working across multiple genres gives me a well rounded knowledge base. Often working with actors on stage or in front of a camera for long hours, I guarantee the look with last all day. I pride myself on being adaptable and completely dedicated to making my work the highest standard possible. Using only the best products and professional brands. I am also very conscious to keep the best hygiene practises in my work. I regularly keep up to date with training and ensure I follow all health and safety procedures.
To be awarded ‘Creative Make Up Artist Of the Year’ from The Official Make Up Awards for several years running is an honour. It’s rewarding to see my work feature in multiple media platforms including TV – BBC and Channel 4, feature films, popular magazines and newspapers, Theatre across the UK such as The Royal Albert Hall London, Sadlers Wells London, The Grand Theatre Blackpool, The Palace Theatre Manchester, The Lowry Theatre Manchester and many more.
Working with a variety of people in production teams and individuals. From directors, designers and actors to photographers and models. I enjoy having a creative outlet in my work and become fully involved with each production. I have a background in dance, drama and performance. This led me to develop a passion for theatre and the entertainment industry. I am able to bring my experience to each production and use my creativity to create something unique. Recently Touring the UK with one of the biggest musicals as Head of Wigs, Hair and Make Up has allowed me to see much of the UK and expand my skillset even further.
Certified by City and Guilds in Level 2 and 3 of Make Up Artistry and Hair. As well as Level 3 Manicure and Nail Technology. Studied at Blackpool and the Fylde College. Further Studies include the Prestigious ‘School of Make Up’ Manchester. Award winning and industry recognised. Gaining a diploma in advanced Make Up Artistry covering all types of media make up including special effects, hair and wigs.
